Iconic Paris house Chanel has announced that Margot Robbie will be the face of the new ad campaign for the brand’s iconic N°5 perfume, which is unveiled this month

Ambassador for Chanel since 2018, the Australian actress and producer continues the lineage of great actresses who have embodied the essence of this unique scent.

Since her breakthrough in Martin Scorcese’s The Wolf of Wall Street in 2013, Robbie has also played Sharon Tate for Quentin Tarantino in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood and her performance as an ambitious young woman who started over again in Babylon was unforgettable. She received her first Oscar nomination for I, Tonya; an independent feature telling the controversial story of Olympic figure skater, Tonya Harding, which she also produced. Most recently, Margot Robbie produced and starred in Greta Gerwig's Barbie, a global phenomenon, which went on to receive eight Oscar nominations.

"I think Chanel Nº5 is one of the most iconic fragrances in the world. It's incredible to be a part of it. There's such an impressive lineage of women who've been associated with the fragrance over the years. I am very honoured to be joining that long list of incredible talents”, says Margot.

See You at 5 by Luca Guadagnino is a film of unprecedented length for N°5: two minutes and twenty seconds built on a rigorously articulated, meticulously conceived scenario that illustrates the modern universe of the iconic fragrance, as well as the captivating, liberated feminine personality at its centre, combining flamboyance, humour, and irreverence.

Luca Guadagnino is a maestro of sensual cinema, such as Call Me by Your Name (2018). He directed See You at 5 in 35 mm in order to better reveal the grain of the skin, the tremors of a first date that vibrate between a woman and the object of her desire, played by Jacob Elordi, the idol of millennials since the television series Euphoria and the stylish thriller Saltburn. Both Elvis Presley in Priscilla and future Frankenstein for Guillermo del Toro, Elordi brings an anxious virility, vibrant sensitivity, a fierce beauty to his character in See You at 5.
