Citizens of Humanity x RISK Graffiti Collective
Remember those days where we all fixated over denim and graffiti? What happens when those two teenage obsessions come together, god-knows-how-many years later?
Lucky for us there’s an answer, and it’s pretty close to perfect. This exclusive line of graffiti denim jackets, each one made to order, comes courtesy of premium denim label Citizens of Humanity, multi-talented artist RISK and super-hot London retailer, Boutique 1. Taking us back to the days of block parties, street art and tag names, RISK has cleverly detailed Citizens’ denim jackets with his eccentric graphic designs. Giant lettering, numbers, bold geometric patterns: take your pick. These jackets demand attention, served up with a healthy dose of wit.
LA based contemporary artist Kelly Graval, otherwise known as RISK, has an enviable career stretching thirty years and is now making the transition from art to fashion. Designing the one-off collection alongside Citizens of Humanity in time for international art fair, Frieze, the collaboration merges some of our favourite disciplines - fashion, hip hop, graphic design, modern art and graffiti.
Boutique 1 has since launched the range exclusively both in store and online, but that’s not the best part: with each one-off jacket retailing at 895 GBP, RISK is offering an elite customer service. Select your own design, be that a single letter or number and RISK will produce your personalised dream-jacket, ready within six weeks of purchase. Plus, they’ll include a copy of Risk’s seminal book ‘Old Habits Die Hard’ and Citizen’s magazine ‘Humanity’ to boot. You can keep your squad. We’re in the tag team.
The Citizens of Humanity X RISK Pop-Up opened on Thursday 6th October 2016 Opening hours (in line with the Boutique 1 store): 10am – 7pm (12pm – 6pm Sunday)
