Birthday Candles

In 2023, the celebrated classic candle from Diptyque gets to blow out sixty candles of its own. From Aubépine (Hawthorn) to Narguilé, from the sixties to the present day, six decades of olfactory exploration have brought us the Maison’s most emblematic creation.
Over the years, this essential part of the Diptyque story has evolved into a cult item, transforming interiors into a perfumed, sensorial universe by means of its herbarium of unique fragrances including the signature candles Baies (Berries), Figuier (Fig Tree) and Feu de Bois (Wood Fire). Wylde’s personal favourite is Patchouli (see below): evoking an island in Indonesia and fresh-cut patchouli leaves taken from shrubs blossoming in the shade. Once lit, this candle releases the leaves’ perfume in full: dense and dark, charged with earthy, woody, almost camphorated accents. Sublime!
