We’re living through some pretty weird times at the moment , and it’s safe to say most people are spending a lot more time at home. Add to that the concern a previously-unknown disease is creating worldwide, and you have the recipe for seriously stressed societies. And where does stress love to show itself? On our skin, of course. So when we had the opportunity to check out cult brand 111SKIN’s latest products, we of course said yes. Founded by internationally renowned cosmetic surgeon Dr Yannis Alexandrides, 111SKIN is the culmination of twenty years of surgical knowledge, innovative ingredients and medically-inspired delivery methods; the original formula was developed to help Alexandrides’ patients’ skin heal after treatments, for more effective results and improved healing time. After inserting a pure-collagen sponge soaked in NAC (amino acid N-Acetyl Cysteine) under the skin of a surgical patient to accelerate healing, Dr Yannis elevated the formula for his non-surgical patients. From there, NAC Y2 was born, a complex that includes a trio of actives with superior antioxidant capabilities, one of which stimulates the production of Glutathione – the body’s most powerful intracellular antioxidant. The superior results included epidermal strengthening, scar reduction and a more youthful appearance.
