The search for that miracle beauty product for the skin that seems to do simply and exactly what it claims to, is an everlasting one. I truly believe that a huge part of the struggle is how early in life you start. Skin products can't actually turn the clock back and make a 40 year old who has never used skin cream look 30… BUT it is certainly possible for a 30 year old to still look that age when they are a decade older if they have been using good products. Talking of which, I have been sent the brand new Olay Regenerist Overnight Miracle Firming Mask here to try out. Olay’s latest skincare innovation has been designed to be beauty sleep in a jar and I have been testing it out with brilliant results. In a nutshell: it has been helping me look awake and rested even when I’m not! Here are all the details you need…

Research carried out by Olay’s scientists revealed that, like the rest of the body, the skin’s metabolic rate slows down at night. This means that when we are sleeping is the time that skin needs a boost the most.

Regenerist Overnight Miracle Firming Mask combines the positive benefits of a moisturiser and a rinse-off mask in one leave-on treatment. It's packed with key anti-ageing actives to help firm and plump the skin with moisture. Added pentapeptides help stimulate collagen production, while Niacinamide helps to restore bioenergy and increases responsiveness to the anti-ageing ingredients, which include Green Tea extract – a potent antioxidant – and soothing Allantoin, to help firm and plump the skin.

Is it user-friendly? Yes: you simply apply a layer to the skin before bed, leave it for 5 minutes to sink in, and then tissue off the excess before going to sleep. In the morning my skin has been plump with moisture, lines and wrinkles are less visible and I look like I’ve had a pretty good night’s sleep even if I haven’t. I look in the mirror in the morning and am always surprised that I look at lot better than I feel!
